Madehurst Glamping
It all began when we were thinking about the fact that we are in a stunning location which we could and should share - if only the rest of the world knew about us! - Yes, we have day visitors, with many regulars amongst their numbers - walkers, equestrians, cyclists, all of whom are in awe of the location, its beauty and tranquility. So how could we improve upon the experiences of our day trippers by enabling them to increase their length of stay in our unique hamlet?
Whatever came up with could not be on a large scale, it would need to be commensurate with our small community. During a brainstorming session one thing was clear from the outset in as much as whatever we offered to overnight visitors just had to be centred around our wonderful Community Pavilion situated in the Madehurst Bowl, which also serves as home to the village cricket club. Our proximity to Goodwood is also a notable asset and gradually the notion of combining these two apparent opposites began to take shape - four nights of glamping over the duration of both main Goodwood Motor Events, Festival of Speed and Revival Meeting.
After many months of preparation we can now offer a 'glamping' experience unlike any other - exceptional location, superior standard 5 metre bell tents and superb indoor shower and dressing room suites, lounge bar and dining areas serving on trend foods.
We believe our indoor areas are totally unique and a definite life-saver if the English weather should be a little below par. However, we have not been complacent in our presentation of any area of the site. As a result of careful consideration and great attention to detail we have achieved a blend of quality furnishings and soft furnishings with an eclectic mix of vintage fabrics and accessories alongside modernity, all contributing to a well organised but relaxing ambience - the ideal retreat after a busy day!
